An update to the 14 June update! 5G in Merton

Update to ActionAgainst5g.org crowdfund deadline info
The previous bulletin (which for some reason I managed to date 14/07!) alerted people to  the 1 week “deadline” ActionAgainst5g.org crowd fund.  In fact, the CrowdJustice site works in 30 day cycles after which period the clock is reset to 30 days again.  So for clarity we will be able to contribute beyond the “3 days to go” message currently showing on the CrowdJustice page.  The CrowdJustice site did not easily allow for ActionAgainst5G.org to clarify this point, also for understandable reasons they do not allow groups to edit their fundraising page after it has gone live. Attached is a leaflet and a poster to help build awareness of the legal action.  I’ll be putting one up on my window.
Getting to know about plans for mast in your area early in the game
My thanks to Hammersmith and Fulham group for sharing some tips.  Every locality can search online for what’s being proposed, however the interface of the planning search tool each council uses varies   In Merton, the easiest way is to
  • go the planning explorer online,
  • use the ‘ApplicationType’ search criteria drop-down and
  • select ‘PA – Telecoms’ and click the  ‘Search’ button
  • You are then presented with a list of planning applications in date order, with the most recent appearing first
  • The application number of each item on the list can be clicked for more detail
H&F group are currently making residents aware of Hutchison Telecom (‘Three’) going for a 66ft/20m mast in a conservation area, overlooking two schools!  They’ve quickly put together DIY leaflets and distributed them to hundreds of residents nearby.  Here’s the webpage and leaflet URLs: www.saynoto5g.uk/colehill.htm    www.saynoto5g.uk/colehill.pdf
