Carissa Wages (the questioner)  If you have a bank of smart meters on the wall of the bedroom I don’t think a canopy would be enough , and it is definitely not the right move. Smart meters emit very strong RF Radiation, in addition to ELF magnetic and electric fields. The protection there should be full metal boards on the wall, with an addition of wallpaper.
In any case I would not recommend to sleep near this wall even if protection is installed.
A Future home should be searched using an RF/ELF meter. Only homes with as less as possible RF and ELF should be considered.
In a future home, that does not have smart meter (or a smart meter bank) installed over it’s walls and have good levels of RF/ELF, a canopy might be good, but the recommendation is still to measure the RF in this house and find the penetration points that should be protected (at the outer circle).
Do you have another room you can sleep in for the time been?
Do you have pictures of the wall, room and meter bank?
