Dear Ilfracombe Town Councillors,

Today I attended the Annual Town Council Meeting and was shocked by the high level of Electrosmog in the room where the meeting was held. The high levels were due to a combination of WIFI in the building and many people sitting in a packed room, most of whom with their mobile phones on, irradiating not only themselves but others as well. When I pointed this out and showed the Panel + the Public how high the levels are, I was told that the Town Council follows the latest “Government Policy” and one member in the Public told me to go away if I didn’t like it. 

I can forgive Public ignorance as people are not being informed. However, I have informed you, our Public Representatives, for some time now. As you well know, current Government Policy is highly inadequate as it does not take into account the thousands of independent studies showing that Electrosmog has harmful biological effects  Further, a meeting that does not make all people feel welcome, including those who are Electro Hyper-ssensitive or those who simply do not want to be irradiated against their will, goes directly against UK Inclusion Policy. I hereby take the opportunity to ask you a number of pertinent questions: 

1. Are you aware of any independent strategic Health and Environmental Impact Assessments showing that Electrosmog is safe for humans and wildlife?

2. Are you aware of the Human Right to Free, Prior and Informed Consent, enshrined in UN Law?

3. Are you aware of the Nuremberg Code, forbidding exposure to experimental Technology without Free Prior and Informed Consent?

4. Are you aware of the many studies showing harm from already existing Electrosmog? Tens of thousands of scientific papers (linked herein) have cited connections to the role of EMFs in a multitude of adverse health effects, including depression, infertility, cancer, damage to DNA/gene expression, oxidative stress, pregnancy complications, melatonin production, neurological disorders, immune dysfunction, Alzheimers/dementia, leukaemia, and many more:

NB: The Lancet in December 2018 states this: “It has been widely claimed that radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation, being non-ionising radiation, does not possess enough photon energy to cause DNA damage. 5. Are you aware that there are people amongst us who are suffering from Electro Hyper-Sensitivity and who are finding it harder and harder to partake in normal day to day activities – including employment – due to the current obsession with ubiquitous wireless “connectivity”? Are you aware that they are being made ill by the very technology that our own MP wants to see reinforced in every nook and crook of our county and country? That her 5G “dream” to them is a nightmare? That these people are in despair and no longer know where to go? That they are being made refugees in their own country and soon the whole Planet? That this is completely unacceptable?

Are you aware that the roll-out of 24/7 ubiquitous, pulsed, modulated, phased array, Wireless Electro-Magnetic Radiation will put up significant barriers and that it will exclude people with Electro Hyper-Sensitivity from society?

8. Are you aware that Electrosmog, together with Blue-Rich White Light and Air Pollution, forms a toxic cocktail? That an increasing number of people do not want to be exposed to such pollution against their Consent and that they have the right to be safe from exposure in their living and working space? That many have chosen to live in the countryside to escape Electrosmog pollution? Are you aware that forcing 24/7 ubiquitous, pulsed, modulated, Wireless Electro-Magnetic Radiation upon people constitutes Technological Trespass and that it amounts to Assault?

9. Are you aware that you represent ALL your residents and that you have a Duty of Care to protect the vulnerable?

10. Are you aware of the vast Ecological and Climate Footprint of 5G? That it will hugely increase Energy Consumption and thus our Carbon Footprint?  Are you aware that this directly contravenes any Climate and Ecological Emergency Declaration, both on a local and national level? I look forward to your informed reply to the above questions as well as an Action Plan, spelling out how you will halt any increase in Electrosmog pollution in Ilfracombe and surroundings and how you will work towards a decrease of said pollution for the sake of humans and wildlife as well as the Planet as a whole. The solution to local connectivity “not spots” is not more wireless connectivity, it is wired connections. Wired connections are safer, more secure, more effective and far more sustainable from a Health and Environmental perspective. Competent Authority or not, you are the ones closest to Ilfracombe residents and, whether they are aware or not, they urgently need your protection from harmful (Blue-Rich White) Light and Electrosmog pollution – as does our Environment. Please bear in mind that wildlife has no access to black-out curtains, shielding and it has no voice. You have a voice and you have a Duty to protect.
